MOSCOW, 8 May (BelTA) – Trade between Belarus and Russia has reached record levels, despite the difficulties that external forces are trying to create, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during talks with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Moscow on 8 May, BelTA has learned.
“We always have something to discuss regarding current economic and social issues. Trade has reached record levels, despite the difficulties that external forces are trying to create for us. Overall, things are going well for us,” Vladimir Putin said.
The Russian president noted that he would inform the Belarusian president about the state of the Russian economy. According to him, there are positive trends that, as a rule, have a knock-on effect on partners within the Eurasian Economic Union.
“This is especially true for our relations with Belarus, since our ties are even deeper in certain areas than those within the EAEU,” Vladimir Putin emphasized.
