MINSK, 30 January (BelTA) – Belarus’ Hanna Damaratskaya and Ignat Golovatsiuk achieved the best results at the Russian Sprint and Allaround Speed Skating Championships in Irkutsk, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Olympic Committee.
The sprinters competed on 29 and 30 January, racing twice each over the 500m and 1000m distances. Over the four races in total, Hanna Damaratskaya earned 156 points and took first place, finishing nearly two points ahead of Olympic medalist Angelina Golikova from Moscow.
Ignat Golovatsiuk of Belarus posted the best result in the men’s final standings, outperforming Viktor Mushtakov from Altai Krai. The Belarusian set a rink record for Irkutsk’s Baikal ice rink in the 1,000m event (1:09.28).
