MINSK, 4 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling national teams have decided on the squad for the 2021 World Wrestling Olympic Qualification Tournament which is due in Sofia, Bulgaria on 6-9 May, BelTA has learned.
Vladislav Andreev (57kg), Nyurgun Skryabin (65kg), and Mahamedkhabib Kadzimahamedau (74kg) will compete for Olympic berths in freestyle wrestling.
Maksim Kazharski (60kg), Aliaksandr Lyavonchik (67kg), Viktor Sasunovski (77kg), Aliaksandr Hrabovik (97kg), and Georgi Chugoshvili (130kg) will represent Belarus in the Greco-Roman wrestling.
Anastasiya Yenotava (50kg), Veronika Ivanova (62kg), and Anastasiya Zimenkova (68kg) will complete in the women's wrestling event.
Two Olympic berths are at stake in every weight category at the forthcoming competitions.
The Belarusian wrestling team have so far won seven Olympic berths: Ali Shabanau (86kg), Aliaksandr Hurshtyn (97kg), Dzianis Khramiankou (125kg), Vanessa Kaladzinskaya (53kg), Iryna Kurachkina (57kg), Vasilisa Marzaliuk (76kg), Mikalai Stadub (87kg).
The 32rd Olympic Games in Tokyo will take place on 23 July – 8 August 2021. The wrestling tournament will feature 18 medal events.
