
MINSK, 9 April (BelTA) – Belarus’ Mahamedkhabib Kadzimahamedau clinched silver at the 2025 European Wrestling Championships in Slovakia, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian graced the podium in the men’s 86kg event. On the way to his success Mahamedkhabib Kadzimahamedau defeated Theodoros Singiridis of Greece, Eugeniu Mihalcean of Moldova, Taimuraz Friev of Spain and Russia’s Artur Naifonov. In the decisive bout the Belarusian faced Paris Olympic champion Magomed Ramazanov of Bulgaria and lost 9-5.
Mahamedkhabib Kadzimahamedau won gold at the 2020 European Wrestling Championships and silver at the 2024 European Wrestling Championships. Mahamedkhabib Kadzimahamedau is a silver medalist of the Tokyo Olympics. At the ongoing event in Bratislava Mahamedkhabib Kadzimahamedau’s silver became the second medal for Belarus. Earlier, Aryan Tsiutryn claimed bronze in 57kg, the men’s lightest weight category. As for the women’s wrestling event, Alina Shauchuk has reached the 68kg final.
