MINSK, 8 April (BelTA) – A session of the joint consultative group on arms control of the Belarusian Defense Ministry and the Russian Defense Ministry took place in Minsk. A protocol to determine how the sides will interact in 2021 was signed as a result, representatives of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.
In particular, the sides determined how they will interact in order to enable the presence of foreign inspectors in the run-up to and during the Belarusian-Russian strategic army exercise Zapad 2021 in Belarus' territory.
The sides also agreed matters concerning joint inspections in accordance with the Vienna Document in conditions of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Apart from that, future realization of the Open Skies Treaty within the group of countries Belarus-Russia was discussed.
