Expert gives his take on Iran attack objectives

MINSK, 27 February (BelTA) – A primary objective behind the attack on Iran was Israel and the USA’s ambition to gain control over regional logistics, national security expert Aleksandr Tishchenko said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“Israel and the United States clearly aim to dominate the region and take control of logistics and energy resources. Therefore, they needed a regime change [in Iran] and a new government,” Aleksandr Tishchenko said.

Speaking about Iran’s geographical position, the expert noted that many logistics routes come into contact with this country. These are the Zangezur Corridor, the Belt and Road initiative, and the North-South transport corridor. “The United States and Israel were making very big plans: to take control of logistics and hand out permits for transit along these corridors,” Aleksandr Tishchenko believes.

He suggested it might be wrong to think the USA and Israel blundered by attacking Iran. “That seems too simple and crude to me. I think there has to be another reason behind all this,” the expert concluded.
