Belarusian Belavia may launch low-cost flights from regional airports in 2021

MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian national air carrier Belavia may launch low-cost flights from regional airports in 2021, Belavia Director General Anatoly Gusarov told reporters on 20 February, BelTA has learned.

“We are working on it. At the moment we are lacking the main thing, namely planes, to launch the low-cost flights. We really hope to launch one or two low-cost flights this year or next year using the aircrafts Embraer E195-E1,” Anatoly Gusarov said.

According to Anatoly Gusarov, Belavia is working on the possibility of launching a low-cost flight from one of the regional cities to Tel Aviv now.

Anatoly Gusarov noted that the similar model was already tested onthe Minsk-Brussels flight. “It is close to the hybrid model, to the low-cost tariffs. But since the demand and the transit flow have been big, we have increased prices. We are not going to set up an affiliated company. We will be developing a low-cost flight program,” Anatoly Gusarov said.
