Belarus' youth union launches new patriotic project

MINSK, 14 April (BelTA) – The BRSM Youth Union and the Belarusian National Pioneer Organization have announced the launch of the patriotic project “Letter to Hero of Great Victory”, spokesman of the BRSM Central Committee Vladislav Dubitsky told BelTA.

“In cooperation with the Belarusian National Pioneer Organization, we launched the patriotic project ‘Letter to Hero of Great Victory' on the sidelines of the 19th edition of the national exhibition of scientific and methodological literature, best teaching practices and students art opened on 14 April. In the run-up to Victory Day and Independence Day, we have invited students of schools, gymnasiums, lyceums, vocational colleges, and universities as well as representatives of public associations to write a letter from the present to the past – to their member who took part in the Great Patriotic War. The letters should be folded into a triangle and brought to the local BRSM organization,” Vladislav Dubitsky said.

After collecting all letters, regional organizations of the BRSM will select the best works. “They will be sent to the BRSM Central Committee and then to the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War,” Vladislav Dubitsky said. The project “Letter to Hero of Great Victory” is a part of the nationwide project “Flowers of Great Victory”.

At the exhibition of scientific and methodological literature, the BRSM presented one of the most popular youth activities – students' team movement. Visitors of the exhibition were also interested in the “Flowers of Great Victory” project.
