MINSK, 13 April (BelTA) – The international spring tourism fair-exhibition Otdykh [Leisure] 2025 attracted nearly 8,500 visitors, which was 1,000 more than last year, Director of the National Tourism Agency of Belarus Dmitry Morozov said during a press conference, BelTA has learned.
"Even before the pandemic there were often discussions about whether exhibitions were outdated as a format and how effective they were for tourism companies. Amid all changes exhibitions could not remain the same," Dmitry Morozov explained.
According to him, the international tourism services exhibition is evolving. "And it is successful. We have seen the trends over the years. Compared to last year, the number of exhibitors has increased. This year, nine foreign countries participated with their stands, including Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan, the Sultanate of Oman, Thailand, Cuba, Palestine, Kyrgyzstan and Türkiye. The total exhibition area exceeded 2,100 square meters, and the overall hall was approximately 9,000 square meters," he noted.
Dmitry Morozov stressed that over 600 exhibitors participated in the exhibition. The exposition attracted nearly 8,500 visitors, which was 1,000 more than last year. "The electronic registration system allows us to accurately track numbers. We are observing an increase in popularity, largely due to the format's changes. All regions and districts of our country were represented on large regional stands. The hall was divided into two sections: national and international," he added.
Dmitry Morozov emphasized that the exhibition is a convenient platform for visitors and travelers planning their vacations to meet service providers from various regions of the country. The stands featured representatives from the tourism industry, including museums, recreation parks, hotel complexes, and agro-tourism estates.
"The exhibition continues to be a valuable platform for establishing contacts for tourism companies both from Belarus and abroad," Dmitry Morozov concluded.
