Lukashenko extends National Day greetings to Sweden

MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended the National Day greetings to the people of Sweden, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“The diligence of Swedes, devotion to their land have contributed to the achievement of significant successes in the social and economic development of the country and recognition by the international community,” the message of greetings reads.

According to the head of state, the Swedes and Belarusians have jointly managed to implement a number of initiatives in various industries, while competing only on sports arenas.

“Your people have given their voice for the peaceful neutral development of their state for the past several centuries. I am sure that in no way some 'well-wishers' should be allowed to lead our region to a new militaristic catastrophe,” Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized. “I hope that the Swedes will soon return to the path of peaceful coexistence with all our neighbors, which corresponds to our true common interests.”

The president of Belarus wished the friendly people of Sweden happiness, peace and prosperity.
