Opinion: ‘Collective West' is trying to impose its social model on Belarus

MINSK, 29 April (BelTA) - ‘Collective West' is trying to impose its own social model on Belarus, Andrei Savinykh, Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs of the House of Representatives, said in an interview to the ONT TV channel, BelTA has learned.

According to the MP, Belarus has been successfully developing practical cooperation with Europe on a sectoral level and has been constructively cooperating with various organizations, be it the WHO, the International Telecommunication Union or the World Intellectual Property Organization.

“Belarus is an active participant in all processes, and, moreover, it is treated extremely positively at these levels. Then we get to the level of politics, and here we have a slightly different situation, different laws apply here. Here, in fact, diversity is not welcome. It is subject to the principles of political correctness, masked by beautiful slogans, but the ultimate goal is the domination of its own social model, the ability to impose on other countries those solutions that are beneficial to the metropolises, in this case the ‘collective West',” said Andrei Savinykh.

The MP added that Belarus is an integral part of Europe and Eurasia. According to him, the country should develop cooperation with the partners without politicization of cooperation in the spheres, where it is beneficial, and where the country is exposed to explicit and unambiguous pressure, it is necessary to fight back.
