Belarusian-Azerbaijani intergovernmental commission to meet in Minsk in early June

MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) - Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko met with Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmadov of Azerbaijan in Baku on 14 May, BelTA has learned.
Igor Petrishenko lauded the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation. He recalled that the previous meeting was held exactly a year ago when the 13th meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation was held in Baku. "It is obvious that the work of the intergovernmental commission makes a significant contribution to the bilateral cooperation, quickly considers topical issues of bilateral cooperation, exercises effective control over the bilateral agreements," he stressed.

Igor Petrishenko thanked his Azerbaijani counterpart for supporting the proposal to hold the 14th meeting of the intergovernmental commission in Minsk in early June during the Belarusian Agro-Industrial Week and during the Belagro 2024 exhibition. "Belagro is the largest international exhibition, food and agro-industrial forum in Belarus dedicated to modern technologies in manufacturing, processing and storage of agricultural and food products," Igor Petrishenko said.
According to Igor Petrishenko, the intensity of bilateral mutual contacts not only at the official level, but also at the level of economic entities indicates the high interest of business in developing mutual trade. As an example, he cited the international exhibitions Caspian Agro and InterFood in Baku where the Belarusian national exposition features more than 40 enterprises.

At the end of the meeting, Igor Petrishenko expressed confidence that the joint efforts of the governments of the two countries will bring trade and economic cooperation to a new qualitative level.
