Vasilevskaya, Novitsky explain post flight reconditioning process

ZVYOZDNY GORODOK, 15 May (BelTA) – First cosmonaut of sovereign Belarus Marina Vasilevskaya and Russian cosmonaut, native of Belarus Oleg Novitsky told the media about their post flight reconditioning process, BelTA has learned.

“Rehabilitation is still underway. Of course, everything went out of schedule, but my homeland, the Belarusian people and President Aleksandr Grigorievich Lukashenko are very supportive,” Marina Vasilevskaya said.

Oleg Novitsky explained that the reconditioning program was slightly changed due to the fact that the cosmonauts participated in meetings with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin. “Nevertheless the rehabilitation program was completed in full,” he said.

“First of all, these are different medical procedures, massage, swimming, daily medical checkups. Doctors should be fully confident that the crew are making full recovery,” Oleg Novitsky added.

The crew of Visiting Expedition 21 to the International Space Station were honored in Zvyozdny Gorodok on 15 May. Hero of Belarus Marina Vasilevskaya and Hero of Russia Oleg Novitsky laid wreaths at the monument to the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. Then the cosmonauts attended a ceremony in the House of Cosmonauts and took part in an autograph session.
