French and Chinese artwork showcased in Chengdu exhibition

CHENGDU, 15 May (BelTA - China Daily) - An art exhibition showcasing the works of 20 French and Chinese artists commenced in Chengdu, Sichuan province.

The Image and Imagination Sino-French Art Exhibition, held at the Nongyuan Art Exposition Park in Wuhou district, features a variety of art forms, including oil paintings, graffiti, photography, and art installations. The exhibition aims to facilitate cultural and artistic exchanges between China and France.

Sponsored by Chengdu's foreign affairs office and the Wuhou district government, the exhibition is the second French-themed event of the 2024 Chengdu-Europe Culture Season. It is also an important activity to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, according to the organizers.

As a highlight of the exhibition's opening ceremony, NY20+, a Sichuan-based international art promotion institution, signed a cooperation agreement with the French art organization Transart.

The agreement outlines collaboration in various fields, such as artist residencies, creative exchanges, and exhibitions for Chinese and French artists to promote the exchanges and development of Chinese and French art.

During the one-month-long event, a series of cultural activities, including a Sino-French cultural salon, interactive workshops, and performances, will be held at the Nongyuan Art Exposition Park. These activities aim to provide rich and diverse artistic experiences for citizens, tourists, and culture and art enthusiasts, as stated by the organizers.
