Russian-Belarusian Student Media Forum to bring together 59 Universities

 MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) - The 2nd Russian-Belarusian Forum of Student Media "Media Industry" will bring together 150 participants from 59 universities, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Konstantin Mogilevsky of the Russian Federation said at a press conference in Moscow, BelTA has learned. 

The forum itself will be held at Pskov State University on 16-18 May. "Russian-Belarusian cooperation covers almost all sectors of our life, including science and education. The Russian-Belarusian Forum of Student Media ‘Media Industry’ has been held in Pskov for the second year in a row. Last year, it drew together representatives of 20 universities: 10 Russian and 10 Belarusian. This year, the forum will feature 59 universities in Russia and Belarus and a total of 150 participants," the deputy minister said. 

Konstantin Mogilevsky also named the theme of the forum - the preservation of the historical and cultural heritage of the two states. "This is one of the key topics that we need to talk about with our youth. This is the topic which the guys should talk about to each other, because our peoples are united by a common history, common spiritual values, family and kinship ties," he stressed.

According to the deputy minister, Pskov State University maintains active cooperation with Belarus in higher education. Thus, in cooperation with Belarusian National Technical University, Pskov State University has set up the advanced engineering school of hybrid technologies in the machine tool industry of the Union State. "The goal of this program is to train innovating engineers who are able to create new knowledge, technologies and products in the interests of high-tech industries of the Union State," Konstantin Mogilevsky said. "This is really a flagship project of our scientific and educational cooperation, and we will encourage the student media forum to  promote and popularize the advanced engineering school.”
