MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) – Grain maize has been planted on 99.8% of the designated area in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
Spring crops were sown on 1,869,400 hectares, which is 79% of the plan.
Spring rapeseed was planted on an area of 46,300 hectares, which accounts for 75.1% of the target.
Maize was planted on 870,100 hectares (71%), including grain maize (99.8%), potatoes on 13,400 hectares (80.3%), vegetables on 3,600 hectares (71.8%). The planting of flax, sugar beet and early crops has been completed.
