Belarusian delegation lays flowers at Memorial to Fallen Heroes in Naypyidaw

MINSK, 28 December (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and concurrently to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Vladimir Borovikov is observing the parliamentary elections in Myanmar as part of his working visit to the country, BelTA has learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Vietnam.
On 28 December the Belarusian Ambassador visited a number of polling stations in Naypyidaw, where he observed the voting conditions and talked to members of the precinct election commissions and voters. 

On the eve of the election day, the head of the diplomatic mission and members of the Belarusian delegation laid flowers at the Memorial to Fallen Heroes in Naypyidaw, paying tribute to and honoring the Myanmar patriots who gave their lives for independence and sovereignty of the country. 

As BelTA has reported, Myanmar is holding the first of three rounds of general parliamentary elections to the two houses of the Assembly of the Union (parliament): the House of Representatives (lower house) and the House of Nationalities (upper house) and to regional legislative bodies. The second and third rounds of the elections will take place on 11 January and 25 January 2026.
