MINSK, 17 April (BelTA) - Chairman of the International Affairs Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Rachkov took part in a joint meeting of the Belarus-Türkiye Business Cooperation Council on the sidelines of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, where he delivered greetings from the House of Representatives leadership to the participants, the press service of the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament told BelTA.
The meeting identified priority areas for bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation in industrial cooperation, agriculture, transport, technology and food supplies.
“Bilateral parliamentary diplomacy is aimed at facilitating economic cooperation programs between Belarus and Türkiye. The parliamentary friendship groups of our countries are involved in this process, including in promoting a number of trade projects. The combined efforts of parliamentarians and businessmen will give an impetus to increasing mutual trade and investment,” Sergei Rachkov said, addressing the leadership of the business council.
The event resulted in an investment agreement and a contract for the supply of Belarusian products worth $40 million.
