MINSK, 22 November (BelTA) - Belarus and Sakhalin Oblast of Russia have agreed to increase mutual supplies of agricultural products, machines and equipment, BelTA learned from the press service of the Agriculture and Food Ministry of Belarus.
The Agriculture and Food Ministry took part in a web-based meeting of the working group on the development of bilateral cooperation between Belarus and Sakhalin Oblast of the Russian Federation led by Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo and Deputy Chairman of the Government of Sakhalin oblast Anton Zaitsev.
The parties reviewed the status of the action plan for 2021-2023 to implement the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in trade, economy, science, technology and culture. The parties reached an agreement to step up mutual supplies of agricultural products, machines and equipment and to establish on cooperation in the field of land reclamation.
In January-September 2022, the trade between Belarus and Sakhalin Oblast increased by 3.7 times year-on-year. Both exports and imports from the Russian region increased.
