Belarus explores Lithuania's experience in fintech regulation

MINSK, 1 February (BelTA) – A delegation of the Belarusian National Bank paid a working visit to Druskininkai, Lithuania on 31 January, BelTA has learned from the information department of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).

Pavel Kallaur, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, and Vitas Vasiliauskas, Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania, discussed the economic and financial situation in the two countries, the regulators' monetary policies and promising areas of cooperation. Consideration was also given to Lithuania's measures to regulate activities of companies providing digital financial services (fintech companies).

The delegations also shared opinions about the EU Twinning Project “Strengthening the National Bank of Belarus”. The project is implemented by the consortium of the banks: the German Federal Bank, the National Bank of Poland, and the Bank of Lithuania.
