MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) – The next session of the trilateral contact group on Ukraine is scheduled for 23 November, BelTA learned from the OSCE's special representative in the trilateral contact group on resolving the conflict in Ukraine's east Martin Sajdik on 9 November.
Martin Sajdik said that participants of the negotiations held on 9 November underlined the need to fully implement the decision on withdrawing heavy weapon systems and clearing the mines. As far as security is concerned, tensions along the contact line are on the rise. The ceasefire regime gets violated, including with the use of mortars and artillery.
The discussion about completing the separation of forces in three pilot locations and determining new locations continued. Further mine clearance steps were discussed.
The political discussion focused on the modality of municipal elections, including the so-called Steinmeier formula, said Martin Sajdik.
