MINSK, 12 May (BelTA) - Polish media fail to turn ordinary Poles against Belarusians and Russians, Polish dissident, judge Tomasz Szmydt said on the air of the Belarus 1 TV channel on 11 May, BelTA reports.

"The Polish media try very hard to turn the Poles against the Belarusians and Russians. But it seems to me that they are not succeeding very much. Although the Polish government thoroughly supports all attempts at a coup d'état in Belarus; it gives money for this, provides housing for activists, gives them access to the media. However, the effect is not big," Tomasz Szmydt said. “What are the Poles observing? Several screamers with flags and posters in the center of Warsaw. 95% of our citizens don't care about it."

According to him, there are those in Poland who are in favor of friendly relations with Belarus and Russia. But life is not easy for such people. "They encounter very serious problems," the judge said. "The special services are watching them around the clock. They are constantly under pressure. Therefore, it is a very difficult task to restore relations between our countries, because openly illegal methods are being used against people who intend to do so. There is a politician who was also forced to leave Poland - Mateusz Piskorski. He was held in prison for about three years without charge. We have enough such examples."
