Lukashenko, Putin work late into the night on 9 May’s eve

MOSCOW, 9 May (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko and President of Russia Vladimir Putin worked till three in the morning on the eve of Victory Day, BelTA learned from the heads of state after a military parade in Red Square on 9 May.

The Russian president said: “We worked for a very long time together yesterday. We parted rather late.”

“At three in the morning as always,” Aleksandr Lukashenko clarified.

“Yes, at three o’clock,” the Russian leader confirmed.

He explained how the two leaders had spent their time: “In the course of discussing our bilateral relations we also talked about what is going on at the contact line, about the situation concerning the complicated events relating to Ukraine. We talked to the defense minister and to the chief of the General Staff. We had a full-fledged meeting with them.”

Vladimir Putin also informed Aleksandr Lukashenko about details of recent meetings with outstanding soldiers and army officers. “We talked about our guys, about those fighting at the frontline. We remarked upon their heroism, courage, valor, and results of combat work,” the Russian president clarified.
