EEU-Thailand free trade prospects discussed in Bangkok

MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) – Prospects for the creation of a free trade zone between the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and Thailand were discussed in Bangkok on 29 January during the visit of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and concurrently to the Kingdom of Thailand Valery Sadokho, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Valery Sadokho met with representatives of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Thai Industries, and the Department for Export Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand. Attending the meetings also was a representative of the Belarusian company Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark) in Southeast Asia. The parties discussed matters of bilateral cooperation in trade, economy, and investments.

The sides also agreed to hold the first Belarus-Thailand business forum in Bangkok to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation between the business communities of the two countries and boost the bilateral trade.
