MINSK, 10 October (BelTA) – President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko has congratulated Belarusian Paralympians on the successful performance at the Summer Games We Are Together. Sports, BelTA learned from the NOC press service.
Belarusian Paralympians won 62 medals in Sochi: 25 gold, 19 silver and 18 bronze medals.
“Dear athletes! You have proved yourselves confidently by performing successfully at the Summer Games We Are Together. Sports in Sochi. A plethora of medals is a testament to your hard work, leadership qualities, character and will to win. Your coaches, your loved ones and fans share this success with you. For many Belarusians the Paralympic team is an example of fortitude, patriotism and the ability to achieve results in the most difficult circumstances,” the message of greetings runs.
The International Summer Paralympic Games We Are Together. Sports brought together about 1,200 athletes from 11 countries who competed in nine sports: athletics, swimming, table tennis, archery, para-taekwondo, wheelchair fencing, football, draughts and chess.
