Ilya Ivashka solves Adrian Mannarino to reach St Petersburg Open last 16

MINSK, 14 October (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 141 Ilya Ivashka reached the round of Last 16 at the St Petersburg Open 2020 after seeing off France's world number 39 Adrian Mannarino 6-3, 7-6 (8-6), BelTA has learned.

The match lasted for an hour and 55 minutes. For a place in the quarterfinal Ilya Ivashka, who had to go through qualifying, will face either world number 197 Viktor Troicki of Serbia or Canada's world number 12 Denis Shapovalov.

Earlier, Belarus' world number 85 Egor Gerasimov lost 4-6, 6-7 (4-7) to Russia's world number 121 Evgeny Donskoy in the round of Last 32.

In the doubles opener Ivan Ivashka and Australia's James Duckworth will take on the Russian tandem of Daniil Golubev and Evgeny Tyurnev.

The St. Petersburg Open will finish on 18 October. Last year the tournament was won by Russia's Daniil Medvedev.
