MINSK, 17 April (BelTA) - Chair of the Standing Commission on Comprehensive Social Development of the National Assembly of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela America Pérez has shared her impressions of Belarus with journalists, BelTA has learned.
“Representatives of the National Assembly of Venezuela have arrived in Belarus to get even closer to their Belarusian colleagues and strengthen parliamentary cooperation. Belarus welcomed us with its beauty. Belarus has many accomplishments, and we can see how your country is effectively dealing with the effects of sanctions. Diplomatic relations between Venezuela and Belarus and cooperation between our countries already have a certain history; we have gathered a lot of experience along the way. We are very grateful to the government of Belarus for this support and for the steps it is taking to our country,” America Pérez said.
On 16-18 April the parliamentary delegation of the Venezuelan National Assembly is visiting Belarus. The visit includes several meetings as well as tours of Belarusian enterprises, educational institutions and cultural sites. On 17 April, the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus hosted a meeting between the Venezuelan delegation and the head of the working group of the National Assembly of Belarus for cooperation with the Venezuelan parliament, Pavel Popko.
“We hope that today's meeting of the Venezuelan parliamentarians who are part of the friendship group with the legislative body of the Republic of Belarus will open a new page in diplomatic relations between our countries,” America Pérez stressed.
