MINSK, 8 November (BelTA) – Belarus has a solid flight safety system, Director of the Aviation Department of the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry Artyom Sikorsky told the CTV channel on 7 November, BelTA has learned.
"There are 20 aircraft operators in Belarus, each of them works in its own niche of transportation. Seven airlines operate international flights," Artyom Sikorsky said.
According to him, the tragedy that happened with the An-12 aircraft near Irkutsk is an open wound for aviators. "I want to assure you that Belarus has a solid flight safety system. Our department supervises aircraft maintenance, the training of flight personnel, and the aviation organization itself," he stressed.
