MINSK, 10 December (BelTA) – The Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia is extremely important for the two countries, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast Governor Gleb Nikitin told reporters following a meeting with Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova, BelTA has learned.
The 12th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia will take place in Nizhny Novgorod in 2025. “It is noteworthy that the forum will be held under the patronage of the upper houses of parliaments of our countries. And today Natalya Ivanovna and I have discussed in great detail what organizational requirements the Council of the Republic has. We agreed that Nizhny Novgorod will make every effort to become a great host for the forum and will set the bar high for subsequent editions of the forum,” Gleb Nikitin noted.
“It is important that during the forum we will officially inaugurate the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus. This forum is extremely important for us, because we do not have such close cooperation with any other country,” the governor added.
The 12th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia will be held in Nizhny Novgorod in June 2025 and will be themed around the youth of Belarus and Russia - the heirs of the Great Victory and the future of the Union State. The program of the forum will include a presentation by youth capitals, events in areas like environmental conservation, mass media, social design, entrepreneurship, history, competitions and an exhibition-fair of municipalities of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast and regions of the Republic of Belarus.
