MINSK, 22 April (BelTA) - Political analyst Yuri Voskresensky shared his opinion on possible terms of the ceasefire in Ukraine as he spoke to the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
Yuri Voskresensky emphasized that the negotiation process has two main tracks: one is between Russia and the United States and the second - the Ukrainian issue itself. “From my point of view, the second track related to Ukraine will not end this year. Three months ago everyone was anticipating the deal to be signed soon but I had my doubts. You see, insane people only get worse with time. The Ukrainian political leadership are criminals. They are fully aware of what will happen to them if martial law is lifted, if independent media is back, if political investigations take place, etc. This is why they will hold on to power until the last second. They are not planning any negotiations,” the political analyst explained.
He also pointed to the obvious interference of the EU countries in the situation. “Things would not be so bad if the problem were only about the Kiev regime. But next to them we have an association of 500 million people called the European Union where representatives of the aggressive Baltic states are in charge of key offices. They include Kaja Kallas, the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Andrius Kubilius [Lithuanian politician], who is responsible for the EU defense. These are the most active anti-Russian and anti-Belarusian politicians, warmongers. There is also one Baltic politician who is responsible for EU economy. It is absolutely clear that these people will continue the war as long as it takes, as they say. They will do everything to ensure that there will be no truce,” Yuri Voskresensky emphasized.
