
MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) – About 1.1 million foreigners have visited Belarus over the three years since the launch of the visa-waiver program, BelTA learned from the State Border Committee of Belarus.
According to the State Border Committee, a visa waiver was introduced for the citizens of the neighboring European countries on 15 April 2022 following the relevant decision of the head of state. A total of 1,062,746 foreigners have visited Belarus over the past three years. They included 610,896 people from Lithuania, 261,419 citizens and 80,134 non-citizens of Latvia and 110,297 people from Poland.
On 19 July 2024 the visa-waiver program included 35 more countries. A total of 22,853 citizens of these countries have visited Belarus.
The border committee also recalled that the head of state extended the visa-waiver program for citizens of 38 European countries. Foreigners will be able to come to Belarus without a visa until 31 December 2025.
