National brand: Kupala Night in Alexandria in BelTA’s photos

MINSK, 6 July (BelTA) - The chronicle of the Kupala Night festival in Alexandria is rich and diverse. Alexandria Gathers Friends debuted in 2010. Aleksandr Lukashenko supported the idea of holding the festival in Alexandria, his hometown. Over the years the festival has become a national brand. 

2010. The first edition of Kupala Night festival drew over 3,000 guests
A wide cultural program was organized for the participants and guests of the event, ranging from "The Town of Craftsmen" and the opportunity to taste traditional Belarusian dishes and drinks, ending with the concert program "Kupala Night over the Dnieper". The highlight of the festival was a fireworks display and a laser show. 

2011. The festival went beyond the national format and featured artists from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine 
Alexandria Gathers Friends drew tens of thousands of people. The central event was the gala concert of artists from three countries "Night over the Dnieper".

2012. About 50,000 people attended the holiday
The arts and crafts fair called as "The Town of Craftsmen" was arranged on the banks of the Dnieper.
2013. Festivals of flax, kvass, beer made their debuts.
62,000 people attended the Kupala Night holiday. The highlight was the gala concert "Alexandria Gathers Friends"

2014. Hospitable Alexandria welcomed friends for the fifth time
The Great Alexandria Fair made its debut then.

2015. The scale of the festival expanded; the Paparats-kvetka production was shown 

That year, the festival hosted the Bard Music & Fishing Festival, and the regional round of the national family agricultural project "Lord of the Village".





2016. The festival began with the exhibition-fair "Dnieper encounters at the Alexandria fair "
2017. A variety and circus performance "Kupala Dream" featured the groups from Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland

2018.  The festival was built around the Native Land theme 
2019. Representatives of seven states - Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland - took part in the tenth edition of the Kupala Night festival in Alexandria
2020. All regions of Belarus and the city of Minsk presented their expositions and thematic pavilions 
2021. The main theme of the holiday was the towel as a symbol of national unity
2022. The festival was traditionally held on a grand scale. Guests of the holiday could visit the Made in Belarus exposition 
2023. The festival was big and colorful with a grand evening music program.
