MINSK, 1 April (BelTA) - Preparations for the 13th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia were on the agenda of a working group meeting held at the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee. This year, Minsk Oblast will serve as the host of the event, BelTA has learned.
According to Chairwoman of the Minsk Oblast Council of Deputies Natalya Yakubitskaya, the forum will take place on 25-27 June, and active preparations are underway. “The forum program features 10 sections and two sessions. Around 870 participants are expected to take part. “The program for the sections includes meetings, visits to enterprises, excursions, and signing cooperation agreements,” she said.
The thematic sections are scheduled for 25 June and will take place at enterprises and organizations across the district centers of Minsk Oblast, as well as in the capital.
Minsk will host the section on “Legal support for food security of the Union State”. BELGEE will be the venue for the section on “Regional policy as the main tool for ensuring sustainable development of the Union State”, while the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone will play host to the section on “Cooperation in implementing joint innovation projects to strengthen the technological sovereignty of the Union State”. The section on “High performance agro-industrial complex: conditions and opportunities at the present stage” will be held at the Dzerzhinsky agricultural complex. The sections on “Supporting economic development of Belarus and Russia: tools and opportunities” and “Joint event of the control authorities of Belarus and Russia” will take place at BelAZ in Zhodino.
Participants of the section on “Strategic trends in cooperation in healthcare of the Union State” are expected to learn about the work of the National Clinical Medical Center at the Belarus President Property Management Directorate. After discussing on “Cultural and historical heritage and tourism potential of Belarus and Russia: New horizons of cooperation” quests will be invited to the National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve Nesvizh.
Secondary School No. 2 in Kopishche, Minsk District will host the section on “Joint meeting of the governing bodies of the Youth Council at the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus and the Chamber of Young Legislators at the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation”. “Joint event of the chambers of commerce and industry of Belarus and Russia" will be held at the Great Stone Industrial Park.
An expert session on “The Union State: A place of development" and the first meeting of the Committee on Standardization and Quality of the Union State will also take place as part of the forum.
On 26 June, the Minsk International Exhibition Centre BELEXPO will serve as the main hub of activity. A trade fair will feature product displays from leading enterprises across all regions of Belarus and also Russian manufacturers.
The forum will also offer participants a diverse cultural program. The central event will be a concert at the Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater in Minsk.
