Gathering all talents in one place: BSU Professor welcome idea of setting up educational center

MINSK, 26 January (BelTA) - The idea behind creating an educational center for training specialists in high-demand professions is to bring talents together in one place and ensure their productive learning, Professor Marina Titok, head of the Microbiology Department at Belarusian State University (BSU), told the media following a meeting with the Belarusian president, BelTA has learned.
According to her, the meeting discussed ways to integrate talented students and educators from scientific schools into a unified learning process. The president liked the idea of accomplishing this in a new educational center.

Marina Titok noted that in Belarus, through the efforts of the Education Ministry, an entire system has been established to prepare schoolchildren for participation in international Olympiads. This yields significant results: students from Belarus achieve victories in intellectual competitions and return home with medals, and their number grows year after year.

“These children are very unique; they work constantly and intensely. The idea arose to bring these talents together in one place and organize their education in the most productive way. We have enough teachers, as well as scientific schools capable of providing instruction. Great hopes are placed on these schoolchildren because, after receiving a quality education, they, being capable of diligent work and being well-prepared theoretically, will be able to contribute greatly to the country,” the BSU professor emphasized.

She believes that the new educational center should specifically admit young people who have completed their general secondary education. “In my opinion, these should be school graduates, because they still possess that childlike maximalism, which drives the pursuit of ever more knowledge and has not yet been lost. The focus should be on them,” Marina Titok is convinced.
