MOSCOW, 16 April (BelTA) - The states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) have signed an agreement on administrative cooperation in weather forecasting and meteorological services, the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) told BelTA.
“The document will enable the regulators of EAEU countries to exchange information effectively as meteorological services operate as a single market. The agreement defines the list of information to be made accessible on the official websites of member states. The information includes current legislation on weather forecasting and meteorology from the EAEU countries, as well as a list of participants in the single meteorological services market. Besides, the document defines a list of information to be exchanged between the parties: on the termination, suspension or revocation of relevant permits issued to participants in the single market for meteorological services, the press service explained.
The agreement will enable regulators to exchange data promptly, prevent violations and stimulate the development of the meteorological services market in EAEU countries.
“Weather forecasting and meteorological services have been operating as a EAEU single services market for Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Russia since 1 January 2023, and for Kazakhstan since 1 January 2025,” the press service added.
