
MINSK, 19 August (BelTA) – The 3rd international specialized ecological expo Ecology Expo has started working in Minsk under the motto “Green innovations for sustainable future”, BelTA has learned.
For three days the Minsk International Exhibition Center will welcome guests specializing in environmental protection. On 19-21 August taking part in the Ecology Expo will be representatives of central government agencies, ministries and government agencies from CIS and non-CIS states, Belarusian and foreign enterprises, international organizations, and scientists. They will discuss key matters of development of green economy, will share cutting-edge practices, and will demonstrate accomplishments in the field of environmental protection.

The expo will cover a number of topics such as ecological technologies, waste and secondary raw materials, ecotransport, ecoenvironment, ecofood and ecopackaging, ecotourism, ecological education and enlightenment, scientific research in the sphere of ecology, protection and rational use of water resources. Each of the topical areas will have a dedicated exposition for the sake of graphic representation of implemented successful projects and the latest technological trends as well as for the sake of hosting discussion platforms. Apart from that, an eco fair will be organized.




Three interactive platforms will also be set up in order to demonstrate ecological activities of education institutions, youth ambassadors of the Sustainable Development Goals, ecovolunteers, and youth associations in an entertaining gaming form. Systems for the ecological upbringing of children and young people will be presented as well as successful experience and topical approaches to organizing studies for the sake of maximum involvement of young people in the ecological movement. Ways to increase the ecological awareness and encourage an overall ecologically friendly way of life will be presented.
The expo will have a vibrant business program. It includes the following items: an open session of the Coordinating Council on Waste Management under the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry, a science and practice conference on further advancement of Belarusian-Russian cooperation in the field of protection and rational use of transboundary water bodies, a dialogue platform on the negative impact of unilateral coercive measures on the implementation of national and international environmental policies. The topic of another dialogue platform is “The third nationally determined contribution of the Republic of Belarus to the Paris Agreement.”
Roundtable sessions are also scheduled to take place in order to discuss topics such as fostering environmental responsibility in businesses through social and educational initiatives in the region, ecological tourism prospects and development trends as well as a seminar on the digitization of the ecology and nature management industry.
Representatives of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry noted that goals of the Ecology Expo are to create a unique space for demonstrating innovations and sharing the best practices, advanced manufacturing and technological accomplishments in the field of environmental protection and rational use of natural resources, to increase the economic return from environmentally friendly technologies through a comprehensive approach to their implementation and use, and to demonstrate high-tech innovative R&D products and ready-made solutions on a large scale. The expo will showcase innovative solutions in the field of environmental protection.
The organizers are the Belarusian Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry and the National Exhibition Center BelExpo of the Belarus President Property Management Directorate.
