
MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) - The art of Belarusian master of traditional handicrafts Svetlana Franko has been recognized by the World Masters Committee in the Republic of Korea, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian craftswoman has become a member of the World Masters Committee. A ceremonial signing and certificate presentation to Svetlana Franko, who participated via video link, was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Seoul on 15 October. The event was attended by representatives of the World Masters Committee and Belarusian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Andrei Chernetsky.
According to the Belarusian Embassy in the Republic of Korea, during the ceremony the head of the diplomatic mission stated that awarding the World Master title to a Belarusian artisan reflects the high level of Belarus' cultural traditions and the country's efforts to preserve and promote its intangible cultural heritage.
The Belarusian and Korean sides have reaffirmed their commitment to developing cultural and humanitarian ties, uniting masters and artists in their pursuit of mutual understanding and unity through art.
