
MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) - Belarus and Zimbabwe signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation in tourism on the sidelines of 27th edition of the international exhibition of tourist services Leisure 2025, BelTA has learned.
The document was signed by Belarusian Sport and Tourism Minister Sergei Kovalchuk and Zimbabwean Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Barbara Rwodzi.

Sergei Kovalchuk emphasized that Belarus is open for tourists from all over the world. Everyone can find a vacation option to their liking out of 13 types of tourism developing in the country.
In turn, Barbara Rwodzi thanked for the warm welcome. "We are very happy to participate in the opening of this international exhibition. This visit is of particular importance. Our countries, as well as our heads of state, have established warm relations. Our close cooperation will continue," she said.
Barbara Rwodzi stressed that Belarus has great potential for tourism development. "We also want to invite Belarusian tourists to visit us. Zimbabweans, like Belarusians, are peace-loving people known for their hospitality," she noted.

She also recalled that Zimbabwe has opened an embassy in Minsk. "We consider it our duty to attract other African countries to introduce them to Belarus: a beautiful country with peace-loving people, delicious food and a healthy environment," the minister added.
She described tourism as one of the priority areas of cooperation between the two countries, along with agriculture, mechanical engineering and healthcare.
