Belarus-Russia Union State sci-tech development strategy until 2035 approved

ST. PETERSBURG, 29 January (BelTA) – The Union State scientific and technological development strategy until 2035 was approved at the Union State Supreme State Council summit, BelTA has learned.
 
The strategy is a basic strategic planning document that seeks to build a unified scientific and technological space in the Union State. It is designed to help ensure security, strengthen scientific and technological sovereignty, address social, political and economic tasks, including tasks related to R&D, technology, manufacturing, and economy.
 
The State Committee on Science and Technology of Belarus and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, together with respective government agencies, have been instructed to draft and submit to the Union State Council of Ministers an action plan to implement the strategy.
 
A resolution was also adopted to institute the Union State Young Scientists Award. This decision is aimed at supporting fledgling researchers from the Union State, encouraging scientific collaborations and joint work to address various tasks in the interests of Belarus and Russia. The respective authorities were instructed to develop and submit to the Union State Council of Ministers the necessary documents, including regulations on the award, the procedure and amount of financing.
