Belarus’ FM meets with representatives of Belarusian cultural center Svitanak in Tashkent

MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik took part in the 2nd Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan. The minister visited the Belarusian Embassy in Uzbekistan and held a meeting with representatives of the Belarusian cultural center Svitanak in Tashkent on 7 February, BelTA has learned from the Foreign Affairs Ministry’s press service. 

During the meeting the parties focused on the joint events to mark the national holidays and memorable historical dates. Sergei Aleinik noted the important contribution of the Svitanak center to the preservation and promotion of Belarusian traditions, language, and culture, and praised the active work of the center with young people. Svitanak’s leader Galina Tatarenko briefed the minister about the activity of the Belarusian cultural center and gave him a photo album published with the support of the Belarusian Embassy in Uzbekistan to mark the 30th anniversary of the center. 

A number of contracts and agreements were concluded at the forum. For example, representatives of the regions and business communities of both countries agreed to strengthen ties in industrial cooperation, agriculture, processing industry, education, healthcare, pharmaceutics, sports, tourism, and personnel training for the forestry industry, urban planning and housing and utilities sectors.
