Lukashenko: Not a single Belarusian soldier or cartridge in Ukraine

MINSK, 27 February (BelTA) – There is not a single Belarusian soldier and not a single Belarusian cartridge in Ukraine, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko told the media after casting his ballot at the referendum on the updated Constitution of Belarus on 27 February, BelTA has learned.

“He [Zelensky] blames us for fighting there. Yet, there is not a single Belarusian soldier there. Not a single soldier (I told Macron about this yesterday, they repeat it verbatim), not a single combat vehicle, machine gun, grenade launcher or gun of Belarusian make. I will tell you more, there is not a single Belarusian cartridge there. Russia does not need it. They have enough ammunition, and cartridges, and machine guns, and people to address the problems that Russia wants to address. Therefore, do not attribute these things to us,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

At the same time, the president said that these days Russians and Belarusians living in Ukraine are being hunted, beaten and robbed. “Is he pushing me to embark on a special operation to save our people there? They do not know what our special forces are capable of. Crazy people! Leave them alone. They came to you on vacation probably, Belarusians have a lot of relatives there. They started beating them, intimidating them. They threaten us with terrorist acts. They trained bandits from among the self-exiled opposition. They banded them together into groups like barbarians and are setting them against Belarus,” the head of state said.
