MINSK, 27 November (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko met with Belarus' leading tennis player Aryna Sabalenka on 27 November. The meeting took place at the request of the athlete, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The head of state congratulated Aryna Sabalenka on the successful season. “Well done! You made the biggest progress out of all the Belarusian tennis players past season. I am happy with your performance, except for several moments when the ball went out of court while you could keep it in the game,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
At the same time, the president stressed that she still has some things to work on to show more consistent tennis. In the light of the player's recent achievements and the rise in the world rankings, the expectations on the part of fans and the state are growing too.
Alexander Lukashenko wished Aryna Sabalenka productive pre-season and successful next season.
