Lukashenko instructs to decide on status of Borovlyany

MINSK, 31 December (BelTA) - It's time we decided on the status of Borovlyany, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he visited Minsk Regional Children's Clinical Hospital on 31 December, BelTA has learned.

“We have to make a decision on Borovlyany. This is already a town. We need to decide on its status: a town, a township, a village or something else? Please make proposals next year. We have to make this decision, because the residents of this place have already raised the question many times: someone wants a town, someone wants a village. We must make up our minds and take the appropriate decision,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

Several years ago the president stated that Borovlyany should be separated from Minsk District and made into a town. In 2021, while talking to the employees of the regional hospital, the head of state noted that the population of Borovlyany was already comparable to large districts in the country.

“It's a rare district. It has big towns. That's why we need to give it the appropriate status. As soon as you put things in order, then I'll make the appropriate decision. This is a good town you have here. Well done! But there is some work still to be done,” the Belarusian leader said at the time.
