Lukashenko warns against red tape in dairy farming projects

DRIBIN DISTRICT, 13 March (BelTA) – It is important to streamline bureaucratic procedures in projects to build and renovate dairy complexes, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he visited the Trilesino-agro farm, BelTA has learned.

The president received a report on plans to develop dairy farming in Mogilev Oblast. A total of 83 dairy complexes are slated for construction and reconstruction by 2030, and the region is already ahead of schedule in this effort.

The president warned that against red tape whatsoever involving various kinds of design and estimate documentation, gathering approvals, and collecting signatures. “Keep this under strict control," Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he addressed Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi.

The farm complex visited by the president is sizeable and had recently undergone reconstruction. This year, work is slated to begin on renovating the facility’s second dairy complex. This prompted a detailed discussion of the farm’s current performance metrics and its future plans.

Officials from the regional administration proposed expanding the operation by incorporating land from neighboring agricultural enterprises.

Aleksandr Lukashenko called for a smart approach to further farm consolidation in order to avoid causing harm. “I warn you not to artificially merge lands, farms, and so on: today we have three, tomorrow we’ll make it two. There’s no need to rush,” the president said. “Think it over, don’t be hasty in merging or de-merging.” According to him, the primary focus should be on the opinions of local farm managers, their plans, and their capabilities for the further development of the complexes.

“I am in favor of calculating how much money we need to give to the region. And then you decide here what things you need to finance first thing: whether to build a complex or help someone. That’s your business,” the head of state outlined possible approaches.

At the same time, the president once again emphasized the importance of developing the territories of Dribin District and neighboring districts. The state is ready to provide financial support in this regard. But the projects must be cost-effective.

“We will lend you the money. Do not expect that we will just give you the money and forget about it,” the head of state said.

Regarding the dairy complex of Trilesino-Agro, Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that the complex is kept in order, with everything organized rationally. It is evident that this was not done in a hurry or specifically for the president's visit. A certain external polish was certainly attempted, but overall, the careful, responsible approach is obvious.

The president toured the livestock buildings, including a calf nursery. Discussions covered the work completed, the methods used, and the costs involved. The assessment: the facilities are modern, efficient, and well-designed - a model for scaling up elsewhere. The president repeatedly stressed that bureaucratic red tape must not delay project completion.
