MINSK, 3 October (BelTA) – Belarusian products are in great demand in Russia, China and other countries, so local authorities should get in on the action. They should make sure that all the crops are harvested and well preserved, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he announced personnel decisions, BelTA has learned.
“Today we are working very closely with Russia in all areas, including on import substitution. Western companies have left Russia. An immense market has opened for us,” the Belarusian leader noted. “Of course, we alone cannot make up for this deficit. We are working together with the Russians in this regard. Our products - industrial, agricultural and other goods - are in great demand in the Russian Federation - from defense products to foodstuffs. Please get involved,” the president said addressing the newly appointed heads of district executive committees.
According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, Russian President Vladimir Putin regularly raises the topic of what Belarus can supply to meet Russia's needs. The Russian president would emphasize that he pays for these products.
“Therefore, excuses citing the sanctions, mobilization, war, or something else are not accepted. Forget about it. You must take care of your area, your people,” the Belarusian leader stressed. The president urged local authorities to complete winter sowing in time and then prepare for the spring sowing.
