MOSCOW, 19 June (BelTA) – Parliamentary hearings on the role of parliamentary diplomacy in dealing with pressing matters on the international agenda will take place in St Petersburg on 28 June, the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia told BelTA.
The event will take place in line with the decision made by the 55th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. It will be dedicated to working out measures and ways for the parliamentary community to counteract threats emerging in the area of international security. Enabling conditions for continuous parliamentary interaction in the area of foreign policy will be discussed as well.
MPs from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, some countries of Central and Eastern Europe will be invited to participate in the discussion. Apart from that, the event is expected to gather representatives of ministries of foreign affairs, leading political analysts, scientists, and representatives of the expert community. The hearings are organized by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
