MOSCOW, 26 January (BelTA) - The CSTO proved its maturity and reliability in Kazakhstan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said as he addressed the State Duma on 26 January, BelTA has learned.
“The CSTO responded swiftly to Kazakhstan's request and sent peacekeeping forces to help it stabilize the internal political situation following massive external attacks. This has become a vivid evidence of the maturity and high reliability of this organization,” Sergey Lavrov said.
In his words, the CSTO continues growing stronger. “We are advancing interaction with our CSTO allies in order to respond effectively to common threats and challenges, including in the context of a very uncertain situation in Afghanistan,” the Russian foreign minister said.
