MINSK, 19 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian side has received a personal address from the United States President, Donald Trump, to the President of the Republic of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, reads the statement by Ruslan Varankov, Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, BelTA has learned.

“Within the framework of efforts to resolve the Gaza situation, Belarus received an invitation to serve as a founding member of the Board of Peace, a newly established international organization. We highly appreciate that the American side, as explicitly stated in the address, views Belarus as a nation prepared to assume the noble responsibility of building a sustainable peace. This role involves leading by example and investing in a safe and prosperous future for coming generations,” the statement read.

“Furthermore, we view this offer as an acknowledgment of the personal merits and international stature of the Belarusian head of state. The proposal has been conveyed to the president and received positively,” the spokesman added.

“Our position is clear: we are prepared to participate in the work of the Board of Peace, with the consideration and hope that this organization will expand its scope and authority far beyond the mandate outlined in the initiative. This will enable it to take an active part in global processes aimed at resolving any international conflicts, which will ultimately contribute to building a new security architecture – a goal Belarus has been actively promoting in recent years,” the statement said.
