CSTO to hold security conference on 9 February

MOSCOW, 8 February (BelTA) – The conference titled “Collective Security in a New Era: Experience and Prospects of the CSTO” will be held at the Moscow headquarters of the Valdai Discussion Club with the support of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 9 February, CSTO press secretary Vladimir Zainetdinov told BelTA.

The event will be attended by CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas. Invitations to take part in the event were also sent to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergei Aleinik, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Alexander Pankin, deputy foreign ministers of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

The one-day conference will include two sessions “Tasks of the CSTO in the context of growing international tension: a view from the capitals” and “Lessons from crises and the security of Eurasia”. They will include discussions with leading political scientists and international security experts from Central Asian countries, China and Russia.
