MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) – Head of the Client Management Department of the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus Alesya Yakimush told BelTA’s The Nation Speaks project what programs the Development Bank finances as part of the “One District - One Project” initiative.
The Development Bank has funded more than 20 projects as part of the program. Those were mostly projects in pharmaceutics, engineering, woodworking, and construction. Any project that meets lending criteria can apply for financing from the bank.
“There are some stumbling blocks associated with external factors, so we always recommend that clients carefully consider the issues related to equipment supply, payment tracking, logistics – the things that cause the greatest concern today,” said Alesya Yakimush. “We have a branch in each region that deals with such loans. After a loan is issued, its use is monitored on a monthly basis. We have a monitoring service that travels to enterprises and, together with the customer, monitors construction costs. We examine whether or not construction works are overestimated to make sure the customer does not overpay.”
“We support any initiative that would boost the region’s development and help it generate income for the benefit of the government,” she added.
